Seven-in-ten say anger over Floyd’s death after his arrest by police has contributed a great deal to the protests, but roughly the same share (69%) point to broader tensions between black people and police. And nearly as many (65%) say the protesters are motivated by longstanding concerns about the treatment of black people in the country.
